Confection Connection Cake Club

Membership & Dues

Guests may attend two meetings then must pay dues to become active members.

A. Becoming a member: Before joining, an applicant must have at least one class in cake/food decorating or be self taught in these arts.

B. Membership Year: Shall begin November 1st and end October 31st of the following year.

C. Maintaining Membership: After joining, a member shall be required to:

 1. Pay membership dues by October 31st of each year.

 2. Attend six (6) or more club meetings in each 12 month period.

 3. At least once during a 12 month period, participate in club activities by (a) giving a demonstration at a club meeting ( member may partner with a more experienced member) AND (b) providing refreshments for a club meeting, serving refreshments and cleaning up the serving area.

The Board has the authority, at it's discretion, to waive requirements 3 (a) and 3(b) for members who are in some manner providing, or have provided exceptional assistance to the club.

D. Member in Good Standing: A member in good standing is a member who has met ALL REQUIREMENTS OF THE CLUB MEMBERSHIP.

E. Associate Member: Shall NOT have the right to vote. An associate membership is defined as a membership for a person who can not attend regular meetings, but who would like to maintain association with the club by receiving the club's monthly newsletter, and any other publications the club may distribute. These "other publications" would be articles or announcements, etc., but would not include demonstration hand outs.

F. Dues:

 1. Are to be paid no later than the club meeeting in October.

2. If dues have not been paid by the date of the club meeting in Novmeber, the club shall not pay for the club's portion of that member's Christmas social.

3. Membership Dues:  (a) Effective October 24, 2005 annual membership dues shall be $27.00. (b)Membership dues are payable at the October club meeting.

4. New Member Dues: Membership dues shall be $27.00 if membership commences between November 1st and May 1st. Membership dues shall be $13.50 if membership commences between May 1st and October 31st.

5. Associate member annual dues shall be $13.50. Dues are payable at the club meeting in October.

Failure to maintain "membership in good standing" shall result in loss of club privileges i.e. serving as a Board Member, voting for Board Officers, serving on committees, etc.
